Maria is a strategic marketing communications professional with more than a decade of experience in integrated marketing communications, multicultural marketing, brand reputation and strategic planning for consumer packaged goods, entertainment and non-profit brands.

Maria was recently named to the 2018 PRSA New York’s inaugural "15 Under 35,” earning her a seat on PRSA New York's Young Professionals Advisory Committee, which is part of its Board of Directors.

Maria is currently the Public Relations Manager for New York State health plan, Fidelis Care. Maria drives the brand’s efforts to bring digital capabilities to the company by launching the brand’s first ever digital influencer campaign and video web series. 

Prior to joining Fidelis Care, Maria worked for several marketing communications agencies in New York City overseeing beauty, fashion and lifestyle clients including L’Oréal Paris, Urban Decay, Old Navy, Nestle, PepsiCo, and Dove.

Maria earned a Masters of Science in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from New York University and holds a bachelors degree in Communications from Pace University. Born in Ecuador, Maria is fluent in spoken and written Spanish.

Maria has served on the Cosmopolitan Magazine Millennial Advisory Board. In this role, Maria helped marketing and communications leaders better understand how  Millennials are shaping the present and owning the future. Maria also played an active role in the Hispanic Public Relations New York Chapter as Professional Development Director.

She has been a panelist speaker on industry events including the Baby Dove "Trust your Way" U.S. product launch, Advertising Week and Personal Care Products Council Conference.
